Favicons say something about your site and should be a must for all site owners.
Favicon stands for "Favorites Icon". It's the little icon beside your site's name in the favorites list, before the URL in the address bar, as a bookmarked website on the desktop, in the "Links" bar and on the windows taskbar.
Favicon not showing up in IE
First thing you can do is go HERE and make a favicon
Keep in mind all browsers work differently and IE is one of them.
Many people do not know this but in order to get the favicon to show up in IE without fighting on how to do it.
Just add a question mark at the end of the extention ico as such ico?
You may also want to use both of the below inbetween tags where you metatags are.
Since there are so many different browsers out there.
The Favicon should be uploaded to your root directory in binary mode.
